One of PPA's primary goals is to help animals through a humane reduction in pet overpopulation. As the driving factor in the majority of domestic animal problems, pet overpopulation is a huge problem that will take the combination of responsible pet ownership and the reduction of feral and stray animals before real progress will be seen.
PPA supports the use of spay/neuter programs to help achieve this goal. Working the Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), PPA recently hosted a SNAP Day at the Pasadena Animal Control and Adoption shelter.
The target was to help those folks who don't qualify for low-income assistance programs, but find the full cost of these procedures a stretch in our current economic climate. PPA stepped in to make the goal of responsible pet ownership possible by funding 25 of these procedures for candidate dogs and cats that were recommended by veterinarians.
PPA is pleased that the funds we raise through donations are used in part to lessen the suffering of animal through a humane reduction in pet overpopulation.
