While the bulk of PPA's efforts center around ways to raise funds to help animals or deciding which projects to undertake, the folks at Pets & People Alliance are a resourceful lot with plenty of creativity in other areas.
Pasadena City Hall's Circle of Trees annual display gave some PPA volunteers a chance to show what they could do when it comes to holiday cheer, and they didn't disappoint.
The PPA entry walked away with two of the most coveted awards in the competition: 1st place in the Most Beautiful category and also the People's Choice Award for favorite tree.
Either one would be wonderful to win in any year, but to accept both is a real honor. The other entries were generally acknowledged to be the best collection yet seen and lovingly decorated, so PPA's recognition is even more gratifying.
Our talented volunteers included: Patty Long, Lou Ann Nolan, Beverly Helms, Barbara Hamlett and two new PPA friends, Ken Donnell and Bridget Bodnar.
Our thanks to these great volunteers for loaning us their wonderful eye for color and flair, and for giving PPA a higher profile for its humane work in our area.
